Could someone please post a picture of the record carousel motor on a Wurlitzer OMT so I can see which wires go where? Thanks!

Keith, How many wires are on that motor-- doesn't the schematic show wire colors ? Ron Rich

Hi Hildegard, You're too "kind" ("nice")-- but you did not give me a chance to tell him to RTFM, as I was too lazy to find my copy of the Service Manual to see if the colors were there ! ( I thought so, just could not be sure)-- LOL Ron Rich

I have a circuit diagram but it doesn't help. There must be a million of these jukeboxes out there. Wouldn't it just be easier to just take a picture of the motor on yours? Please, please please .. lol

Kieth, From my memory-- it appears correct to me ? There were several versions of the OMT 45 made, but they all used the same basket motor, as far as I can recall. Ron Rich

Keith, to take a photo means owning such a jukebox too. If not .... Like Ron said, in general all OMT vinyls use the same mechanism and motors. But I see I picked the wrong motor from the schematic. MM = gear motor, KM = record carrier motor. Hildegard

Hi Hildegard, Do you know what the item marked "VDR" is ? Ron Rich

Hi Hildegard, That's it! ... That answers my question ... Thank you very much! The three brown wires go together and the yellow one is by itself.

Hi Ron, It's a voltage dependant resistor. Value: 35V eff. regarding the wiring diagram.
These are the meanings of the abbreviations, valid for OMT vinyl and models of that era:

Keith, great that it worked out fine this time.
A note: In case of new posts please specify your model a bit more detailed. ID plate gives information about model ID and serial number. The serial numbers of OMT (and others of 1986 and up) tell the year of production. In general it is helpful to let others know which amp and which SCC is installed, overall condition, if somebody else already tried to repair, which manuals/schematics one has got, if problem occured right away or step by step etc.

Hi Hildegard, Thanks ! Now I'm attempting to figure out exactly what that VDR does-- I can only speculate that it lowers the voltage to the motor at start up, so the basket does not start with a "jerk" ? Is it a "standard" 35 ohm resistor, or is it something built "special" for this application ? Ron Rich

Sorry, Ron, I don't know for sure. My guess is that it is more like a "fuse" to protect the motors if voltage gets a too high peak resp. to influence irregulations in voltage. The phono motor has such a VDR too.
I think it is a common part, not specially made for Wurlitzer.
