Hi,
Working on a V200 with a TSR1-L6 selection receiver. This is a nice original phono that I'm in the middle of preserving/refurbishing.
I'm able to make selections perfectly from the keyboard, but get nothing when trying to select from a wallbox through the stepper, although it occasionally will work (about every 25 attempts).
I've checked and cleaned all the contacts in the stepper, swapped 2D21 tubes around, everything moves and spins freely, when making a selection, both the number and letter step switches move and return to the home position when the magnet releases (I think because both step switches move, this tells me the input from the wallbox to the stepper is ok, and that my problem is downstream from the number and letter step switches?).
One thing I've noticed is that if I plug the tormat into the selection receiver, this seems to "short out" all of the contacts on the number and letter switch plates when they move with the step magnet. If I disconnect the tormat from the selection receiver, I will only see continuity between the center contact on the switch plates and one of the letter or number contacts, whichever one the step magnet has move to (I am actuating the items manually). Not sure if this is a problem with the tormat since everything works fine with the keyboard?
I've serviced the selection receiver, replaced the 5 uF cap (along with all other caps), voltages measure good (155VAC get 162VAC, 25 AC & DC I get ~28V, and so on). Also checked most of the resistors and the ones associated with the stepper and stepper 2D21 tube all measure within tolerance.
Anyway, I think it should work and it's probably something I'm missing that is really simple, any thoughts or suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
