SPS160 plays side 2 of record -instead of side 1

Hello All (noob here)

have a 1972 SPS160 that was recently shopped. 

However, as i gradually filled the machine with more records, i realized that on selecting 179, it plays 279. 
AND
it sometimes plays 170 

in the service manual  (issue 3, page 1) it says to check plugs and cables for pin alignment, broken wires -done). 
Check Motor power. 

but still having this issue. 
Any ideas?

Probably the selection keypad issue. Each button makes multiple circuits which need to happen simultaneously, somewhere in the forum they talk about a compound called lubriplate for those contacts. I never used that, I ultrasonically cleaned mine, no problems since.

Is this just an issue with 179/279? Or does it affect other selections?
