I was offered a free jukebox I just had to get it out of the house that worked. How can I say no except for the fact that the stairs were insane that thing was a bear to get up. once I’ve recovered and my back isn’t destroyed I’d like to clean this thing and learn more about it. it appears to be working fine as far as playing music goes and mechanically wise. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not used to old school analog music like this the volume knob definitely seems like touchy and grainy very low. And cuts in and out but once you raise it midway or higher it seems to be OK. But regardless it’s really neat and a crazy conversation piece lol. I just wanna clean it up and maintain it however I can to keep it alive. anybody know anything about this history tricks things to look out for appreciate it. imgur.com/a/HqQxr6L

Hi, A free jukebox - how great is that! Your jukebox is a Rowe MM-3 - also called "Music Miracle" built in 1969. www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/AMI/AMI_MM3.htmFrom the photos it looks dusty but ok. In first step check all fuses. Check if they have the value printed on the components. Measure them, don't rely on your eyes. Check as well all wires if they are undamaged and plugged in right. If you want to become familiar with your jukebox, to understand how it works, I recommend to get the service manual. It is a thick book and offers description, function, electrical sequences, adjustments, wiring diagrams, a trouble shooting section and the parts list (which is helpful in case a certain part is needed). The potentiometer might be just dirty from inside, but can be worn of course after 53 years. Usually the amp can need a check or to get overhauled. The power supply should be checked too just to be on the safe side. This list is not complete but maybe something to start with. And for more question it might be good to start a new post in the AMI/Rowe section.
