Hi guys i am having a very familiar issue with twice scan, no selection. I have narrowed down many of the possibilities but would like to confirm the write in voltage, as per Tony Millar there is a test strip on control center. as per photos i have two strips, neither strip is labeled write in source as per Tonys info. Has anyone tested this voltage and if yes is the answer which test points did you use. thanks pete postimg.cc/gallery/YvzrCNq

Not sure which one of Tony's manuals you are using. But the manual for the AQ100 has an excellent troubleshooting section, easy to follow I have fixed several with it. Have you rebuilt the pulse amplifier? and tested the tubes? Todd

I think i may have found the issue, i tested the RO switch using a meter for continuity, found it was only contacting about 1/3 of the time. I removed the switch and cleaned the contacts but noticed the gap was noticeably large, I had purchased duck bill plyers in the past due to a post i read from Ron Rich and slightly bent the blade. I reinstalled and now get continuity every record. I cleaned the electrical selector so i need to wait for it to completely dry before testing. pete

Found the issue, in my case it was prior help from Ron Rich, not my trouble shoot manual. Following all test procedures it lead me to the tormat, tubes or wiring/component issue. I tested everything and found no issues. Once in the past Ron helped me on a AY 160 that just wouldn't pick up records properly or consistently, after all of the known suspects clutch, tubes, pulse amp, frog , components, he lead me to the RO switch, in that case the switches gap was just wide enough to give partial contact. In this case the contact gap was so wide there was no contact. Using recommended duck bill pliers i reshaped the blade to get the recommended gap and unit works perfectly. pete
