Faced with these sort of results, you would be looking at the detent switch - see first jukeboxmarty post above, and maybe the tormat RCA plug. There's also a capacitor in the pulse amp that's always worth changing out; there's probably a sticky on it. I was also thinking of suggesting that capacitor to Liam with his "KD".
Edit - for the pulse amplifier, the 0.05uF capacitor and the two resistors connected to it which tend to drift in value.

Thanks again Norman. When you mention the Tormat RCA plug, how would you check that? Due to it's connection on the pulse amp and since it protrudes out from the top of the pulse amp, when closing the door (at least on this jukebox) it tends to get compressed amongst the other cables. It does look suspicious but would it cause a fail on the same selections every single time?
Cheers, Rudy

Hi Rudy, Meter the RCA plug, tip to shield, it should be quite low maybe less than 2 ohms. Make sure the solder connections are good and clean it up with crocus paper. Your failure rate on the battery test is quite high and it's affecting both A and B sides so I'm suggesting that's pointing to either poor execution of the read out voltage (detent switch) or poor sensing of the trip signal.

I had a similar problem on a V200 a month or so ago, and found that the height adjustment of the contact block was out, resulting in low contact force between the contact block pins and the tormat rivets, and thus intermittent/missing selections. Not sure if the 222 has the same adjustment, but might be worth checking.

Thanks Bill. I went by the "1/4 inch" rule when adjusting it. I tried several different heights and minor lateral adjustments. None seemed to make a difference. Always the same "skips" letter/number combination. The contacts were worn at an angle which tells me it was out of adjustment for some time...I leveled them flat with a fine file and emory clothed the sides smooth since the spring was having trouble extending them fully because of the buildup.
@norman: Thanks again for all of your help. Much appreciated. Years ago I would travel to Aberdeen regularly while working for Baker Hughes. Would frequent Radar's on Belmont Street. Miss those days... Cheers

Hi Rudy, Radars, that's going back a fair few years! Co-incidentally, my daughter's partner works for Baker Hughes.
