I am getting ready to recap the amp and control center out of a Seeburg HSC-1. The original electrolytic caps are out of spec. I’m wondering if I should replace them with a certain level of quality cap to make sure the sound reproduction isn’t compromised. Appreciate any thoughts. Thank you.

A new cap as specified in the schematic is all that’s required. Most new caps are good quality. You can buy kits from jukebox parts suppliers or from whoever you may currently be purchasing your electronic components. I recommend you test and verify each new cap prior to installation.

I would recommend buying capacitors from approved vendors such as digikey and mouser to avoid any counterfeit crap - 95% of my caps come from those two suppliers. Unfortunately their stock of axial capacitors is quite limited. I have been buying axial caps from justradios and have had no issues so far.
