Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could share advice on where to obtain replacements for the Synchron light animation motors that were in the old AMI jukeboxes. My "B" has 3 60RPM "110V" Synchron model 600 units. My units are very old and have trouble starting with the load on them. I looked them up and apparently the factory in Indiana is still in business but they do not stock those motors anymore, they sent me to some dead-end distributors. I found some random motors of that line here and there, but my unit takes (2) CW rotation motors and (1) CCW rotation motor. Some motors I am seeing are dual labeled CW/CCW meaning you'll never know which way it's going to pick and yeah that's not what I want. I had some microwave oven fan motors laying around and just tried one of those but they're too fast. Also, if I can't find a 60RPM option, are there other speeds that folks have found to be acceptable?
Thanks! Lou

Hi Lou,
are you sure they are 60 RPM motors? It sounds quite fast to me - it would be 1 turn per second.

The links doesn't open right. 5 rpm sounds more reasonable. At least they were and are available for many years: victoryglass.com/product/part-number-9-2527-6/Regarding the manual there is CW and CCW for the pialsters and CW for the upper one. In the meantime I found an information that 20 rpm motors had been used. But I don't know where this info comes from, so can't guarantee it 100%. Hildegard

To be honest, I find 5RPM too slow, but I'm in Europe under 50Hz, could be different with 60Hz. Also there is a gear on motor shaft, and this diameter will change the RPM.

Sure - 50 or 60 Hz. makes a difference in RPM. So maybe the 20 rpm are right indeed for model AMI B.
Did you check Bill Butterfield for good used motors?

Hello,
I may be able to help you. I have several anamatipn units for the Rowe-Ami CD100's. Send me a PM message on this site and we will see if we can help.
