Hi BJ, I'm afraid that the R-91 is too "modern" for me so I can't be much help! There is a youtube video "troubleshooting error codes in a rowe-ami jukebox" that might help you? I know Ron could be very critical of youtube videos and while I have never paid much attention to jukebox related ones, I have actually found some that are useful when repairing my dishwasher lol! Worth a look anyway, I would say - let us know if it helps.

Hi BJ, As I previously said, I cannot help you but I did find this reply to that exact query on another forum by the late Ken Layton who, as you may recall, was a respected contributor here. Norman.
Magazine index pulse error. Any of these are causes:
Check for dirty magazine gear (optics can't see it).
Check/adjust/replace optical switch assembly.
Adjust mechanism control board "I" (index) trimpot as per your service manual.

Hi BJ, Looking at Ken Layton's recommendations and working through your findings, it would appear that there is an issue with the magazine index opto interface in the R91. The optos would appear to be working OK but wherever they interface to in the CCC of the R91, that looks like it is defective.

Just a (stupid?) idea without knowing these equipments at all: What if the sockets of R91 are bad? They would stay when R92 mech gets installed, wouldn't they?

Are you saying that the detent solenoid is late to operate or not operating at all?

Are you getting voltage at the mechanism control board of the R91, P207 pins 2 & 5 when the detent coil should operate?

Good to hear that there's progress and it looks like Hildegard was correct with her observation from three weeks ago!
