Hello all, been away from the forum for awhile since Ron passed, glad to see it is still up and running. Wife went to game room to play jukebox and will not start a scan. will accept the 1st and 2nd numbers when third number is punched in nothing happens i.e. no scan. I tried the scan start switch on mech control panel and no go, I also have a low buzzing coming from upper area of juke which i traced to the play control subtract coil staying energized. Been reading all my guides from Ron and Tony M. searching the web and think it is the reversing switch went wonky.
Is this a good place to start? Any and all help appreciated, Steve K.

Neither the subtract nor the add coil should remain energized. Don't allow it to stay energized for too long... they will burn out! Are you sure it's the subtract coil? Where is the mechanism carriage positioned? There are several possible causes, but I wouldn't start with the reversing switch.
The carriage may have come to rest on the "scan control subtract switch" on the mechanism base.

Yep its the sub coil, the add coil activates when I key in a number but cannot close the scan contacts on 3rd digit due to sub coil has lever locked.
The carriage is almost to the far right, has never stopped at 179 always 176-178.
As soon as i turn on the Juke the sub coil energizes and buzzes, i know not to let it cook.
I fix a problem, the machine works great for 9 months then when i forget all the tricks it goes boom!

OK folks, jukeboxmarty for the win!! I pulled the mech to do a good lube job since it hasn't been done since we bought the Juke. Cleaned and lubed all the areas on the lube charts with 3 in 1 motor oil and found the carriage had the subtract switch closed. Moved the carriage off the switch, reinstalled mech and shes working like a champ!
