A Rock-Ola Starlet 429 came with a burned and shorted armature in the magazine motor and an amp with all the tubes in "Poor" condition and one tube with no vacuum.
I replaced the motor (w/used) and it checked out by using the scan switch.
I went through the amp replacing caps, some resistors and all the tubes.
Back Together: With the switch in the run or operate position, the plater runs continually now but no magazine motor.
I checked the Fuses in the Power Distribution Assembly which are good. I checked the Fuse at the Write-in Unit Assembly which was also OK.
I can select a record though. After selecting record A1, it goes through Sequence 5. Write-in is complete and Lock bar Switches A-1 are released and then nothing.

Hi Tom, If the turntable is operating, then it would be safe to assume that the play control relay is made and -28VDC is present. So you would be looking at the circuit (shown bold) in sequence 10 on manual page 46 through #2 micro, interlock release contact and #1 micro. Not forgetting the contact on the play control relay or the motor itself.

So I ran the gripper motor by hand through a complete cycle and the magazine motor went to the home position and the turn table shut off.
I then selected A1 and the write-in carriage wrote correctly. The read-out carriage then found A1 and stopped. That is all it does. No gripper motor and no reset of selection lever. The turn table just spins.

Hi Tom, That would be you at sequence 5, page 41. Maybe dirty reverse relay contact or the gripper motor requires servicing; have you seen it run? The selection lever doesn't reset until sequence 7 so too early for that!

I found an open wire on the brush holder of the gripper motor.................. it did work earlier this week too. The wire cam free from the brush holder.

Having a runability issue and the shaft of the turntable motor is not centered in the hole of the turntable bracket. I believe the turntable motor is mounted in the wrong position on the turntable bracket assembly. I can't seem to find a photo or drawing that helps. On the motor, Two screw holes are at the corner of the hexagon and the third is centered between two corners.
Thanks- Tom

I think I got it, The wire from the motor extends towards the two screws on the turntable mounting bracket.
