Hello all,
I just registered to this forum in hope to meet some people who have a working United UPB 100 jukebox. (First i registered at forums.arcade-museum.com but I got the hint to have a look at this forum). So if there is anyone outside please let me know. I'm looking forward to get some experiences how to build up a non working machine or how the machine looks and sounds when it has been brought back to life :-).
I have the manual of the machine. There exist three videos on youtube I already know.
Many thanks in advance!
United

United phonographs--ah, yes--a "Bingo game" with a needle and a speaker ! Sound OK--when working---working when placed next to an oil well that's spewing 20 wt. ND oil all over it !

Hopefully not a "Bingo game" ;-). It is going to be a bottom's up restauration. But the basis is good. The machine is complete with all original glasses. My plan is to start with the mechanical components first followed by the amp to get the machine playing the 45s without any issues. Last step will be the housing. All chromed parts need a new chrome finish $$$ :-(. I hope I don't have to place the jukebox on an oil pan and have to stand next to it with an oil can in my hands when I want to operate the machine in the living room :-)

Hello United,
I just took in 2 United jukes for restoration this week and another machine is getting dropped off on Tuesday 5/8/18 for parts. Over the next Year I will be getting the UPB100S and the UPD100S boxes restored. By some stroke of luck I will be able to work on 2 United STEREO jukes at the same time.
If you have any questions I will be happy to help with what I know. I am no expert on these machines but I know they can be made to work reliably. I will also be looking for parts and trying to get some glass and other parts reproduced.
Good luck,
Ben

Hi Guys, "United" is an interesting company, to me, as I was employed by the gentleman who started it, long after it was sold, and moved to Chicago. In about 1968, I was assigned to help clean out the building in San Francisco that was, formerly, the manufacturing plant for the bingo type pin-balls, and "bowlers", they made. We loaded many truck-loads and took them to the dumps--motors, relays, and wiring jigs went bye-bye-- it appeared to me, the new owners of the now "United Mfg. Corp." took nothing to their new plant (still used, today,to build slot machines, as far as I know, by WMS). Good luck "restoring" them-- Only hint I can give you is: If you think something needs "adjusting", it probably does NOT, unless someone has previously "adjusted it". Most likely it needs cleaning, and 20 wt oil ! Good luck, have fun-- Ron Rich

Thanks for all your information. Biggest problem is to find someone who can renew the chrome for a realistic price.

Hi United, That's no problem--it's un-obtainable ! Since you did not add your location to your profile, as requested, I can't tell you where to take it -- There are several chrome shops that specialize in jukebox re-chroming. Check the ads in Always Jukin'. Ron Rich

Sorry, I'm located in Germany. But in the meantime I have found someone who will rechrome the parts. I will now start to get the mechanic and amp running again.

Hi United fans, I need help. The frame of the coin box got lost. Is there someone who has this part and would sell it? Best regards Tobias Attachments:
