I have an NSM Consul ES160. I took the printed circuit board out of my Centrale to change the LR relay and now confused about the thermal paste and plastic (mica?) washers. I have a 208550 B diagram but that doesn't seem to relate to the Centrale It doesn't mention T108, T105 or T109 which I presume are the amps as they are designated L & R. Is there a separate diagram for the amps? I'm thinking mine is an early ES II centrale as it has 6 LED's. There are ten transistors bolted to the case and T108L, T105L, 109L, T109R, T105R and T108R have plastic (mica?) between them and the heat sink. The VR's 201-204 didn't all have these, (VR204's had broken/split) but I'm not sure VR 203 & VR201 had any. Do you think they should all have MICA ? although VR 201 & 203 also don't don't seem to have top hat washers under the head of the screw.

It's my recollection that they all have insulation but I don't appear to have any documentation to confirm this.

Hi Norman, I think you are correct. Looking at the diagram (link below) it seems the collectors are connected to earth by resistors or diodes and therefore if directly mounted without the mica and screw bush they would probably get the earth connection direct, bypassing the resistor/diodes. The amplifier transistors on the bottom of the heat sink were all Mica'd and bushed, but out of the voltage regulators only two were mica'd and bushed. VR202 (7905) is the -5v one and was Mica'd and bushed, whereas the rest are +ve output voltage regulators. On mine VR201 & VR203 were not, however I have reassembled using Mica & bushed under the head of the screw and everything seems fine and I think sounds better. So changing the LR relay has fixed that issue with the LR relay not operating (the original fault) After 5 or 6 plays I now move on to another fault but expect that to be with the carriage. Note: Please investigate for yourself, I take no responsibility if you follow my thoughts. i.postimg.cc/rmWD4CRx/main-diagram.jpgThanks Tony
