Hi,
I have a AMi Continental 1 that is doing some strange things.
If I select a song, it selects it and plays it.
However, it also selects random records (about every three or four numbers apart) and lifts them from the record basket, places them on the turntable, brings the tone arm over to touch the record (but does not play), and then returns the record to the record rack.
It just continues to do this over and over again. Can someone please provide me some direction why this is happening?
Thanks in advance.
Regards Gordon...

Hi Gordon, Is it happening on both A & B sides? Are the pins fully reset? Are the stopping switches free, nothing fouling them? You could maybe have some sort of intermittent type short circuit, very difficult to diagnose from afar!
Norman.

Hi Norman,
Thanks for the reply. The problem is almost fixed.
Yes, both sides and yes, the pins are reset.
Watching it closely the problem appeared to be mechanical as the record drum was stoppimg randomly, often not aligning with a record. It record basket also appeared to be rotating slower than normal. I suspect something was/is binding. I oiled everything I could, and loosened the belt around the record basket (very) slightly.
It now is working normal most of the time. I intend to replace the belt around the record basket and add more oil to the mech.
Hopefully this will fix the problem.
Cheers
Gordon..

Hi All,
I found the problem and it was a simple fix. I will try to get the terminology correct......I think it's the Actuator Assembly?
The Actuator Assembly has 5 switches on one end and 1 on the other end. It Assembly rocks switching either the 5 switches or the single switch on and off during selection/play mode etc.
The single switch has a brass 'tongue' (best I can describe it) between the switch and the Actuator. This 'tongue' had moved and mis-aligned. I moved it back into place, and the jukebox is now working well.
I hope this is clear..... Thanks for your help. and I'm sure I'll catch-up next problem.
Regards
Gordon....
