My 2410 seems to be stuck in one mode. The turntable starts with each power on with no record in place. Tone arm is in the "home" position, moving the front record guide to the left stops the turntable but starts again upon release. Tone arm switch works also. Cancel button on front of amp doesn't appear to do anything. I do not hear the cancel relay inside the amp pull in. At least I think that's where it is. Am I correct in thinking that relay has to pull in to start the cancel operation. The box has been working but only if I manually select the solenoids from the back of the carousel. I haven't even gotten to the front panel select switches or the coin mechanism. But other functions have been working. Thanks for any suggestions Ron

Hi Ron,
Do you have a manual for your machine? If not you should get one.
There is a reversing relay (there is no cancel relay), but it is controlled by a series of switches.
The "Play Switch", "Trip Switch", "Cancel Button", "Transfer Switch", "Service Switch", and the "Loading Switch" all have a hand in operating the record carrier motor along with the reversing relay.
The easiest place to start is to ensure that the Service Switch and Loading Switch are both in there correct positions. Also in my experience the Loading Switches are prone to failure. Also check the -28vdc power supply fuse.

Marty Thanks for your help!I got it working.. I manually depressed each selector pin and suddenly it started working. Don't know if I hit something else in the process, but it's working now. My tone arm cartridge is not working, guess a replacement is all I can do there. Im thinking I can use a cassette deck to plug into the amplifier input to check sound system to some degree? And I do have a manual I got from Victory Glass a few years ago. Just trying to identify the switches is a challenge.

Marty I think I also found what I thought was the cancel relay, but in fact I think it's the relay that pulls in if you jumper the plug for service?? Is that correct? Thanks Ron

Regarding the ap your W2410 is set up for mono. Originally the green Cobra cartridge was installed. If that is still so, then the amplifier is set up for the Cobra cartridge. No regular amp can be used for testing.
Cobra cartridges do not generate any voltage in the cartridge themselves like crystal, ceramic, or magnet ones do. An oscillator (first valve in the amplifier after the input) generates a high-frequency signal, which then gets only modulated by the Cobra cartridge. Then this modulation gets decoupled from the carrier signal in the amplifier and further amplified.
If the Cobra was replaced already by a ceramic or magnetic cartridge, then the amp must have gotten some modification already. In this case an equivalemt amp can be used for testing the cartridge.

Hi again Ron,
You are probably referring to the 'Override Relay' in the amplifier. The override relay provides power to the amplifier high voltage (and turntable motor) after a selection is made.

Thanks to your replies...yes the green Cobra cartridge was still installed. So assuming no mods were made to amp. And thanks for info on the Overide Relay..

I have recapped the 536, installed it back into the jukebox and record selection seems to be working. But nothing really out of the tone arm..just slightest bit of noise, but nothing discernible. The old Cobra cartridge is still installed. Can I use a cassette tape deck line out connection to the 536 phono input to see if amplifier is working?

The short answer is no, you cannot use an alternate source for the input.
Check across the male RCA plug for resistance. It should measure pretty low (just a few ohms). If there is no continuity then maybe the Cobra cartridge isn't installed right or the contacts in the tone-arm are dirty. It's also possible your Cobra cartridge is bad.
Another quick test... If you tap on the 12AU7 tube you should hear that through the speakers.
