have a friend with an original 1015. selection 23 doesnt work. all others do. 22 and 24 work. when you hit 23, you hear a grrrr noise, like a relay locked on. it lasts 2-3 seconds, then quiet. if you select another record it plays. you can cancel, and select another, no problem. if you cancel and try 23, no grrrr, no nothing. you can then make another selection, but from then on 23 is just dead. if you the juke turn off and back on, the 23 will grrrr again, then dead as above. when he first called me, i suspected the switch, but doing a some testing over the phone revealed the above. the grrrr should rule out the switch? he has an original service manual, but i havent seen it yet. he is a distance away. i have many years of experience with pinball, bowlers, gun games, slots, etc. never touched a juke, and the more i know ahead of time, the better chance i have. he is a distance away from me.
thanks mike

Hi Mike,
If you're a pinball guy you probably can form your own plan of attack. I wouldn't completely discount the keyboard as a possible issue. There can only be a finite number of possibilities... The keyboard contacts, the #23 selector coil, the correct operation of the main and release relays, and associated wiring and connections. Don't discount a physical issue such as a sticking selector coil.
I'm sure you'll find the issue.
