Hello, new to the forum and have a question on a 1963 Seeburg lpc. The cord to the wall plug came out and before I rewire the plug, someone mentioned that jukeboxes should have a 3 prong plug. I currently only have a 2 prong and the power cord only has 2 wires(white and black). Should I replace with a 3 wire cord with a ground wire? Or is it ok to have the original 2 prong?

A 3-wire grounded cord would reduce the electrical hazard if wired properly. It has been suggested that changing the machines original design would create some sort of legal liability. I do not agree with this assessment as it pertains to non-commercially operated equipment. See this thread: jukeboxaddicts.proboards.com/thread/3304/t0-ground-earth

mine has been rewired for 3 wire AND I have a GFI pig tail at the wall socket. the internal bits still have their 2 wire plugs but all the hardware is looped together with the ground wire
the advantage of 3 wire + GFI over 2 wire + GFI is.... if there develops some hot to chassis leakage it will trip rather then wait for a person in the path [to ground] to trip
