New to the site. Have a AMI Cont 2. I make a selection but the magazine will not engage. Amy suggestions?

welcome here at Jukebox Addicts.
Please give a more detailed description starting with inserting a coin or how you give credit, does the credit get established, is it the version with keyboard or manual selection wheel, did the problem occur suddenly, did the jukebox work before - if, when was this the last time, did anybody do anything to the jukebox etc.
Otherwise it is a question like "I turn the key of my car. But it does not move." ...

The jukebox did work. But that was many years ago. I bypass the coin operation by pushing the credit button inside. I make a selction the buttons stay in. The wiper motor starts. The motor stops and then that's it. I can manual scan the magazine.

There are still a few possibilities! Do you have the service manual? When the write-in motor stops, does the sprague relay operate? There are also quite a number of Continental threads alraedy on the forum that would be worth your while reading through.

I can manually scan the magazine but went I make selection the magazine will not engage. Suggestions appreciated.

If the selection is registered correctly, but the record magazine does not rotate immediately, most likely the scan control unit does not work properly. This unit should activate both the turntable and the magazin motor. The scan control unit has a micro switch which might be faulty.
