Is this a good forum to ask for repair advice on my parents NSM City 2 Jukebox? After they had movers move the jukebox to their new house they have an issue where it won't play the B side of the record (tries to play the A side but echoes) and it also won't unload the record once it plays a record on A side. Where is the best place to begin troubleshooting? Possibly a short somewhere? imgur.com/a/KA1E09rI am also trying to find new Stabilus Lift-o-mat gas struts if anyone has a good link to find those.

If this is a good forum ... who knows. :-)
For the Stabilus Lift-O-Mat: Where are you located? Europe or USA? Maybe you can add this information to your signature in your profile.
About the record playing problem. I am not sure whether this is only one or even two faults. And also if I understand right.
I understand this: 1. In general the City II plays A sides and plays them fine. But when finishing the song the record doesn't get returned. 2. When a B-side got selected, the carriage pulls the record, but the tonearm doesn't move to the equivalent B-side of the record and tries to play the A side.
Maybe you can confirm or give a new detailed description of the problem.

Hildegard, thanks for the reply! I am located in USA.
1. I was able to fix the issue where the record doesn't get returned by adjusting a set screw that pushes a little arm forward 2. This is correct, if I choose a side B song, the tone arm doesn't switch to the other side but the record loads and spins without issue.

It's probably a lubrication issue. If you search the forum (other jukeboxes), you should find that this has been discussed previously!

Hi Norman, I did try searching but I may not be familiar enough with the terminology to know what to search for. Do you have any pointers on how to properly lubricate the tone arm on the NSM City 2?

I'm not at home right now so have no access to documentation. Pay particular attention to the tone arm cradle and also the lever that shifts the cradle operated from the transfer cam. I will be back in one week approx.!

No rush! If you are able to share any documentation that would be greatly appreciated. I will continue to learn about the cradle and tone arm when I go to my parents next (where the jukebox is).

You really should get yourself a service manual, this is a standard recommendation. There are some not particularly good quality NSM service manuals here nsmjukeboxmanuals.yolasite.com/manuals.phpOn page 24 of the ESII Service Manual you will see a diagram showing the arrangement of the tone arm cradle shifter; it probably requires some cleaning and lubrication. I see I forgot to get back to this post - I apologize. Stabilus Lift-O-Mat: You get replacements from John Durfee at www.needles4jukeboxes.com/gas_springs.htmService Manual: I suggest too to get a well readable service manual. To understand what the jukebox "wants" and how it works, it will be of good help. Plus you can take a real manual with you wherever you go. The ESII manual is available at Victory Glass: victoryglass.com/product/part-number-71-3493/ It might not contain all information for your City 2 - pages for the cabinet parts and schematics might not be included. Also in case your City 2 has the Ortofon tonearm, then the chapter for Ortofon carriages might be missed too. Maybe you can ask Aaron at Victory Glass. Hildegard
