HF 100G troubleshooting

Hi
I am new to groupe I have a HF 100G.
I have owned for over 40 years.
Turned on today played several selections ok .
Then turntable lost power and stopped.
Canclllation button does not work.
I cannot move selector carriage with manual switch.
Unit has power lights up.
Prior to this unit played well but just continually played each record with out making any selection.
Does anyone have any ideas what I could try to fix this.

Hi Bob,
Got the Service Manual ? My guess would be, from what you have written, is that you have two problems. 1. The motor run cap has failed 2. IF--the pop meter is "popping" at the time the record is placed onto the turntable, the pin cancel solenoid in the rear, has become "sticky" (is this happening on both sides of a record ?).  Ron Rich
