Hey everyone,
First time poster here. I am rebuilding a Rock-Ola 425. The Nylon gear inside the casing of my gripper motor has gone bad (several teeth have been worn down), causing the motor to bind up. I have gotten a replacement gear, but the only way to get the old gear out is to remove the outer (13-tooth) gear that seems to be held on by a roll pin. I have whacked on this thing quite a bit, but I can't get it to budge.
Is there a secret I am missing to getting the outer motor gears off?
Thanks, CW

The "proper" way to remove the roll pin would be with a parallel pin punch of the appropriate diameter. You haven't said what you are using? Sometimes a bit of heat on the pin can help if it's gunged up with old hardened oil or grease.

I know i am late to this, i have 2 425's, i used a pin punch like the others mentioned. I then used a small gear puller to pull that gear off, mine felt like it was glued on, but I am sure it was just seized from old grease.
