I am working on a 434 Concerto and have found the GE309 current limiter lamp is missing, the machine has been working so my question is how if the lamp is missing?
This seems to be necessary to stop the write in motor!

Yes, you're right, lamp #309 is important for a trouble-free selection sequence.
So maybe somebody replaced the lamp with some kind of other part doing the same job, e.g. a resistor?
Maybe photos of the credit unit would allow to tell more.

Yes thanks I'll take a closer look, I had thought someone might have replaced it with a resister or something.
