So I have a Wurlitzer 3000 and I've slowly been working through it's issues (thank goodness for the service manual) but I'm stuck now when the record is complete.
The Limit switch is triggered and it starts to cancel the record for a moment (while the switch is engaged) but as soon as the switch is opened the process stops. If I manually flip the Mute/Play to the Mute position the process works correctly and the record is unloaded and the next selection is loaded.
I'm not understanding what would normally flip the position to Mute, I can watch the cam move it to Play when the record is loaded but just don't know what would normally move it to Mute
Any help would be great
Thanks
jt

Hate to reply to my own topic but I will....so what I've come up with is that the switch should default to the Mute position passively via the spring and the cam holds it in Play position when in play.
I lubricanted the lever and tightened the spring, this seems to be working. So when the cam moves forward it frees up the lever on the Mute Play switch allowing it to return to the Mute position.
I got it working this way, I certainly hope this is the way it's supposed to be working

Sometimes the levers that operate the switches get really gunked up; The spring really shouldn't need tightening.
You may want to remove the bolt that holds the levers in place, then they can be cleaned and lubed properly.
It's pretty easy to do.
