My 1900 has a stain on the grille which won't shift. Has anyone ever resprayed one? What paint did you use?

The Wurlitzer 1900 is currently a highly sought-after machine.
I'm not sure spray painting your grill would do it justice.
Have you looked into reproduction grill screens? I believe the reproductions that are available are fairly high quality.

If the final solution is to buy a reproduction, then it is worth a respray.
