I've got a Wurlitzer 2404. Played some records tonight. First one played ok, came to the end and then cut to next record. Next record played then stayed playing at the end i.e. didn't end the play. When I pressed the cancel button at the back of the juke it didn't stop the play either. So it looks like more than just a mechanism playing up, could it be a fuse? Grateful for any help, guys!

The record 'trip switch' in series with the 'cancel button switch' and 'transfer switch' completes the +28vdc (ground) to the changer motor.
The fault could be in any of those three switches.
And yes, there is a fuse for the 28vdc. But also note that if the 28vdc fuse is blown, the machine would be unable to make a selection.

Many thanks. I have the manual but can't find where the fuse is, which is the first thing I'll check. Where is it located?

The fuse is on the amplifier chassis.

I checked all the fuses which are ok. I tried the cancel switch by the player (trip switch?) which clicks but has no effect. The cancel switch at the back of the amplifier also has no effect. The manual switch to change records worked (near the record assembly- is that the transfer switch?) so the changer motor works, although it's jammed now. The record selection worked prior to that and I selected and played a different record. It would seem surprising if 2 of the 3 switches failed (so not the switches at fault?), and the motor works, so what would be your advice next for the troubleshooting? Many thanks.

Are you talking about the 'loading switch'? It actuates with a lever in front of the mechanism. This switch cuts power to turn the motor off during record loading. If this switch is bad (which is common), the motor may intermittently lose power at any point... not only when the record is playing.
If you suspect this switch, you can just jumper it to eliminate it from the circuit.

I jammed the carousel by pressing a switch, so can't do more now. It's buggered. Will try to find a jukebox engineer.

Locate the mechanism chassis motor and reverse it by hand to locate and clear the jam (or have the service man do it!). There is a knurled shaft sticking out of the back of the motor.

I was going to short the cancel switches to see if works, but the carousel is jammed now.

Ok after a couple of hours I've fixed this. The switches were fine, as there was a slight reaction at the transfer switch mechanism but it didn't depress enough on the switch. The cause was the adjustment screw on the transfer switch not being screwed in enough. Thanks for your help!
