Hi when the gripper puts a record on the platter the centre spindle doesn’t pop up to keep the record in place
Help much appreciated

One assumes it's an AMi since you've posted in that section but you should really say what model! Are all the parts there for automix, is the solenoid sticky?

sorry it is an ami 100 select stereo round that plays large and small hole records
the centerpiece doesn`t pop up when a regular 45 is placed on platter
there is a coil left of platter that energizes and attracts a gold color lever below it that seems to be what prevents the centerpiece from popping up

The large schematic should provide the circuits and the schem-a-grams in the manual will give you the sequence of operation. If I remember correctly, there are two coils, one moves the hub and the other moves the speed shifter.
Where I live, a regular 45 has a small hole!
