hello all thanks for letting me join this great site! Doing a Seeburg m100B and the manual said to lubricate the contact block with graphite. Should I use powdered or graphite based grease? My mechanism keeps selecting the same record over and over, I cleaned the rails now it selects different records, and has now settled on picking out a different record over and over. Thanks for the help.

Jeff, Where (page #) does it say that ? I have seen graphite used all over the SAU, but always assumed that someone put it there--never thought the factory did --It has always been the grease, that I have seen. I don't think that's your problem at the moment--I would assume, that if you have removed the SAU, you do not have it properly adjusted, or the contact block ("frog") is not seated well in the U shaped driver bracket. Hi Ron- on page 58 in the troubleshooting section; clean block and rails. Lubricate rails with graphite, I thought this may be my issue since I cleaned the old gunk out of the rails it selects a different record over and over. I also adjusted the contact block as per page 2151. So what kind of grease do you recommend to grease the rails and other parts with? I have the 3 in 1 blue cap motor oil as per your helpful tips section. this is my first jukebox and a learning experience, thanks a lot!!

Hi Jeff, Thanks--I knew it had to be there--somewhere, as I do recall seeing that--If you can find it, almost any type of graphite grease can be spread LIGHTLY on the areas the frog rides the rails. CRC Sta-lube Moly-Lube Grease, works well--but this lack of grease should NOT be causing that problem if the rails are clean ! Look at page 2151, item C. Do you see the spring steel on the left side ? Does your frog holder have that spring--is the frog sitting level in that holder, with enough pressure from that spring to hold the frog against the other side of the holder ? Be sure this is correct prior to adjusting the SAU, and the frog "U-shaped" bracket, using the two screws shown. Ron Rich

Hi Ron- my mounting bracket was bent. I have the 2 adjuster screws out and the Bakelite block is petty hard to push freely in the tracks- should it glide easily or is it normal to be hard to push? Thanks Ron!

Jeff, Sounds as tho that poor mechanism has had some damage do to being moved without the proper procedure being followed-- Letz put it this way--with no "crap" on/in the slides I check them all. Frog should travel freely. I usually put SAU on one end, and slide a spare block down the slide--Ron Rich
