I'm working on my father in law's KD200 that has the dreaded "scan twice play nothing" issue. The weird thing is that it's really intermittent. You can stand in front of the machine and select a record, which it will happily play. Once it finishes and resets, you can select another record and it will scan twice and play nothing. Next time it may work perfectly. And next time nothing!
I'm going to try to get a new analog test meter (the one here is broken) to check better tomorrow, but has anyone seen something like this before?
Thanks, Phill

There is a multitude of possibilities here! You could try the battery trick - see sticky above which at least should help to narrow down the problem area.

Thanks!
Quick update: it now won't play anything...
I tried the battery trick this afternoon, nothing plays. I put a jumper across test point A and B while it's scanning and it'll stop and pickup a record. The manual suggested this was a problem with the Pulse Amplifier tube so I tried changing it but that's made no difference.
My father in law happened to have a 2050 laying around so I changed that too, but still nothing.
Cheers, Phill
