I am a newbie and need help I have a Seeburg USC2 I just recently purchased it. I do plan on buying a manual but gonna take time so had a question. When powered on, it it stuck in one position playing the same record over and over. Never has scanned or anything. When I hit the reject record switch it just puts the record away then immediately picks it back up and plays it again. Also when it gets to end of record it puts it back then picks it up again and starts to play. I have looked on this forum for answers but I might have missed it. I have read some things about the clutch not disengaging but I can watch it move up and down when it keeps picking the record back up. I just need somewhere to start. I can also make selections but it just keeps playing the same record and never leaves it or scans or anything for that matter. I also cleaned those little contact switches on the back and there is no change. Maybe I missed some. Please help..what should I look for that is obvious? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks but it is not a clutch problem. I have found that I am loosing the read voltage when the select pass switch is in the yes position. It will only scan back and forth when mech start is applied and then park but nothing when making selections. If it is in the no position and you make a selection it works as intended but will not eject the record. That is what I have figured so far. Off to the schematic. I believe I might have a few issues at the same time. I should add that the record reject switch also doesn't do anything.

I don't work much on these, so I'm not going to be able to help much. There is a lot of USC information already on the forum and I think that it would be well worth getting Ron Rich's Microlog Troubleshotting Guide to supplement your manual. And although Ron is no longer with us, his guide can still be prurchased, for example from Always Jukin'.

You may have multiple issues.
First, as far as the record playing over and over.... how did you eliminate the clutch as a problem? The clutch is the number one cause for this issue.
This sounds crazy, but is your amplifier hooked up and working? The reject circuit is controlled by the mute relay in the amplifier. If the amplifier has no power... there is no reject.
Otherwise, you can check the tonearm's reject reed switch and magnet to make sure they're OK.
