Hi my name is keith, i was an old school tv repairman, i also am good mechanically and can create new electronics if needed.
Im a volenteer at the Richfield Historical Society. They have AN AMI 800 jukebox yhat mostly works. The cable from the turntable is pretty messed up and needs to be rebuilt. There are a few other ghosts in the machine, like it sometimes get stuck and plays the same song over and over.
I dont ubderstand how it sequences selections, i dont see much logic in there!
Any advice is welcome. Keith

Hi Keith, The Model 800 refers to the mechanism itself; it's not the model number of the entire machine. They could have an E-120, F-120 or G-120, based on that mechanism number (I think). It's best you determine which model you are working on. There is usually a plate on the back of the machine with the model number. Once you make that determination, I'd suggest getting a service manual, then familiarize yourself with the various components. It is very common on these particular machines for the "zip cord" wire to have deteriorated over time... to the point of crumbling away! I would also check the wire for the florescent lighting circuits, that's probably crumbling as well. You can obtain a service manual from one of several suppliers: jukeboxaddicts.proboards.com/thread/4472/newly-updated-parts-suppliers-resourcesOnce you get familiar with the machine I'm sure you'll be able to take care of it's issues! Welcome to Jukebox Addicts! -Marty
