I have a G200 and an H200 .I hear people talking about liking manual or electric selectors. I assume I have the electric ..how do the manual ones work? Do you turn something to position the pin hammers instead of number and letter keys? That seems crude.

It's not that primitive! The read-out operation is exactly the same in both. In the electric, the write-in arm is driven by the search unit. In the manual, the write-in arm is driven by the wheel, otherwise it's much the same ie same pin wheel to record selections.
