This business offers custom 45 rpm records, among others, using customer supplied MP3 files of the desired songs. The website also states that "7 inch records can hold 6 minutes per side." The MP3 recording which I submitted runs about 5 minutes 35 seconds. When I placed my order I specifically advised that I wanted a 45 rpm to play on a 1961 Rockola Princess jukebox. The record which I received will only play the entire recording when using a basic turntable where the user manually places the tonearm on the platter, and then manually removes it when the recording ends. This effectively eliminates proper playback on most (or all) auto-change 45 rpm players, which includes jukeboxes. Playback on my jukebox skipped the last 30 seconds of the song. A quick visual inspection revealed the problem: the playback grooves didn't begin until about 1/3" from the edge of the record. The most common commercial 45 rpm playback grooves typically begin within .10" to .15" from the edge of the record. When I contacted xxxxx at xxxxxxxxxx all I got was a snarky too-bad-so-sad-you-should-have-known-better response. When I checked their website today I found that there is now a small disclaimer that these records may not work on jukeboxes. After checking out the various complaints about this outfit on the BBB site I found that in most cases, the response by xxxxx amounts to the philosophy that the customer is always wrong. Lastly, the audio quality on the Freestyle Vinyl record was adequate for my purposes, but certainly nothing to crow abouRedut. Buyer beware.

I am dismayed that on a site dedicated to fixing, restoring and preserving jukeboxes that one's first post would be a negative review for a business that only has an ancillary connection to jukeboxes.
I'm not sure that this site should be a harbor for negative reviews such as these; there are plenty of other platforms out there.
I'm going to leave this post up for now, but I'm seriously considering deleting it or redacting it.

I honestly think that you could probably have realised that trying to cram close to six minutes on to a 45rpm 7" vinyl record to play on a 60s' jukebox was likely to result in disappointment!

***Admin Note***
If anyone has a legitimate complaint about a particular vendor or supplier, I suggest they post the complaint at the BBB (Better Business Bureau) or other consumer advocacy group or agency. Although offering objective reviews (not complaints!) about products and services that pertain to our membership may seem advantageous, it is NOT the primary role of this forum. Future posts containing such reviews will be evaluated and moderated on an individual basis, with a bias toward removal.
