I have a rockola 496-2 that has a non-functioning controller. I have verified the EPROMs are bad and will not read. The EPROMs are labeled 54479-6 and 54479-7. I need the two ICs to repair this board and ideally would like the binary files so I can program my own parts. I have programmed and installed -3 and -4 software hoping they were merely revision changes but I think they are for another model. I only have a blurry schematic for documentation so I don’t have a parts list to verify part numbers Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ross

The numbers 54479-6 and 54479-7 are Rock-Ola part numbers. The parts list does not tell more about these except that they are already programmed. The schematic gives this information for both: PROM 2764/2364 250ns 28 pin. It seems this PROM is still available, but for binary files I don't know.

If you had some known working EPROMs couldn't you read them out into a file?
I'm also under the impression that EPROMs for these boards rarely go bad, so buying an untested controller may yield good parts... maybe!

I got my system 3 control unit repaired now I need the manual that describes its functions. There is quite a lot of info on the system 2 controller but info in sys 3 controllers seem elusive Thanks. Ross
