I recently acquired my first jukebox, a Rockola 496-2. Apparently a Rockola oddball as far as jukeboxes go. Produced as one of the last jukeboxes that played 45s and also had an option to install a CD player. I bought it for $50 knowing it didnt work and would need repair. Ad said "needs a circuit board" repaired. When I got into it I discovered the power supply PCB was trashed from a leaking electrolytic and had burned up traces and took out other components. I rebuilt the PCB and thought I was back in business. Now I discovered the controller wasn't working , probably the result of the fried power supply. After some troubleshooting I discovered that the two EPROMs on board were damaged and needed replacing. For the last 5 weeks I have been looking for the EPROMs I need (54479-6 and 54479-7) or preferably the binary files so I can program my own chips. Its a frustrating endeavor. I have found system 3 controllers for sale but they are sold "as-is" or "untested" for around $100. Im not willing to take that gamble. So now I wait and keep seeking the two ICs needed to bring this box back to life again. I am also contemplating purchasing another 496-2 and copying the EPROMs from the working unit.

Hi Roscoe, Welcome to the forum, and jukebox ownership! I can't help you directly with the EPROMs or binary files, but there are some on this forum who might.
