100c wont move on carriage and just spins

I'm new to this so please bare with me.

Never had an issue with the 100c before until a couple days ago.

Selected a song, the record went back in the cradle but the mechanism never moved down the carriage like usual to go to the next selected record.
It just sits there and spins.
Fuse is good.

I've taken the back off and can see the clutch moving on the top part but not the bottom where the gears are.

I've also tried spinning the motor coupling but it doesn't move the mechanism down the carriage at all.

Hi Jeff,

It seems like the 'safety lever' has not moved out of the way causing the mechanism to get hung up in safety mode. This is usually caused by a lack of lubrication, or it just got too gunked up (or the record got stuck).

Do you have a service manual? The safety lever is shown in various places.

You can trip the mechanism by manually lifting the trip 'release lever' the to see if it goes about it's business. To do that you'll need to take off the mech cover.
