Hey All, it's been a while.
I am struggling with an amp repair.
When I run it on the bench the first few seconds seems ok then I get a squeal through the speakers and my amp meter begins to climb, that's where I shut it down!
I have taken some voltage readings at the power supply section Y Z and 370v at C120C. I do this quickly before the current draw spikes.
I'm getting close to 500 volts at all these points and they should be 275vdc 325vdc and 370vdc.
I've checked my work rebuilding this filter section and all looks good.
I tested the electrolytics and the esr of the new caps is fine.
Would appreciated any thoughts on what would cause this.
