Hello, I'm trying to source a replacement gripper motor for my 442, and by replace I mean find a new one because there isn't one there! I have the service manual which calls for part number 45715-A. I have scoured the internet and all part sources using this forum and what not with no luck. My issue is there are some available on eBay however they are not the same part number and are rated at 22 vdc, where the part my unit needs (45715-A) calls for a 28 vdc gripper motor. Can I use a different motor? Obviously it will mount on the mechanism but does the voltage matter that much? Or if someone would have the one I'm looking for I would appreciate any help in the matter. Thanks!! -Ian

It would probably help if you told us your location! What 22V motors are you finding?

Gripper Motor #47698-A 22VDC (found all over ebay and other sources) Gripper Motor #52498-A ??VDC (found all over ebay and other sources) has capacitor attached to motor housing Gripper Motor #45715-A 28VDC (part identified in my service manual for 442) Would the #47698-A motor work? thanks! -Ian

I'm not sure why these motors have a 22V label because they operate at around 30VDC so yes the 47698-A should be fine.
