Hi, Based in UK...I have had the OMT for 20 years...little in terms of problems. Mine has an infra red remote control. Every time i power on recently, the volume defaults to Full...i turn it down (quickly!) using remote. Scares the life out of my 2 year old grandson who is addicted to the Jukebox......
Any ideas?
Secondly- one of the oil cylinders has stopped working- right hand side- again- any help would be great.
I have a manual, but neither issue appears!
Thanks in advance

Hi Colin, I don't do a lot with these but when I do, I use flippers.com for guidance. I seem to recollect that problem coming up before somewhere, maybe it was here although I couldn't find with an extremely quick search. There is amplifier information on flippers including problems of fluctuating volume but maybe that's different to your issue?
Norman.

Is it the so called bubble tube which fails when saying "oil cylinder"? Below the bubble tubbe there is a resistor which gets warm and heats up the fluid in the glasss tubes. If the resistor fails, the fluid will not boil and bubble.
To check if the bubble tube itself is ok: Take it out and hold it with the bottom for a few minutes in your closed hands. The temperature of your hand will be enough to get the fluid to bubble after a while. It is bubbles, all is fine. If not, then the bubble tube itself is faulty.
I have no idea about the volume problem. Did I understand right, this happened suddenly? means all was fine and then without doing anything to the OMT it went wrong? If so maybe there is a loose connection or ground problem? Just a shot in the dark.
