My 1946 1015 is currently having selection issues. With the jukebox at rest between selections, I select a single record, example, #22. The jukebox will appropriately push out the Selector Rod (SR) from solenoid #22 on the Electric Selector Assembly and the selection process will begin when the Selector Arm (SA) turns looking for extended Selector Rod (SR). However, on my jukebox the SA will stop on a solenoid that DOES NOT have its SR extended and select it for playing. Even though the SR is NOT extended the SA will stop, the jukebox will play that record, and the SA will push down as to 'return' the SR which wasn't and isn't extended. In this case the SA was at #7. That record is played and the SA again rotates to another solenoid which also does not have its SR extended, #14 and repeats the same process for that unselected record. When that record has played, the process is repeated for #21 which is another unselected record with a non-extended SR. When this record has played in the same process, the SA finally arrives at the selected #22 ,which does have its SR extended. Its normal play cycle is completed and the jukebox turns off as the only activated solenoid's SR is returned and that record has played. In the sequence, #22 was selected and its SR activated the play cycle. However, records #7, #14 and #21 played without their SR being extended as the SA stopped on each in succession as if their SR had been extended.
In addition, there is a pattern to this entire process. If I select #21, only that SR will be extended BUT the SA will mysteriously stop on #6, #13, and #20 before playing, and ending the cycle by playing #21 which had the only extended SR which started the entire play cycle. There is an obvious increment of 7 solenoids/selections between each 'played' selection. This same pattern continues if I select #20. It follows through with #4, #11, #18 and then plays #20 before stopping. Again, I select #19 and I get #3, #10, #17 and then #19. In all cases, the only solenoid that activated and extended a SR was the original button pushed.
I know these +7 increments of unselected records are not coincidental and there is a reasonable explanation and solution for this behavior, but I am obviously not bright enough to see the 'elephant' right in front of me.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!
