Hi all,
I have two 425's and specific 45PRM records land on the center of the turntable, triggering the 33RPM feature. How can I fix this? is it the record for is there an adjustment needed.

Are those records which activate the other speed - must be 33 rpm, not 75 - records with small center hole? If so, then you have a 425 with so called "Intermix" option - or like Rock-Ola called it "Mech-O-Matic": Large center hole activates 45 rpm, small center hole 33 rpm.

Yes you are correct, It is 45&33rpm, they are all the same size hole. Can you think of a reason it would be landing on it to trigger the different speed?

Ok, so then there should be 45 rpm. Your turntable should have three moveable notches. When the record with large center hole gets placed on the turntabel, the notches should be out and centering the record. Are they out or down? www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Rock-Ola/R.O.425.htm

Yes, there are. My issues is, a handful of records do not land center and will trigger 33rpm.

They do not land center? I uderstood wrong from your first post.
My only guess: The whole gripper mechanism is sticky. Greased and hardened oil doesn't allow the gripper mechanism to move freely enough. The gripper might open already though is is not really in the right postion. hence the records do not land in the center. This might not happen with all records, just then and now.

If the record is landing off-center, then the turntable needs to be adjusted. With the platter removed, there are 2 screws, and 2 nuts that hold the turntable mech in place. They can be loosened, and the mechanism adjusted so that the gripper arm places the record in the center of the platter.
