Working on a Seeburg KD200 (and finding loads of problems :( )

A few weeks ago I raised a query about running a 117 Volt 60 Hz Seeburg KD200 on UK Power. I had a 230V to 115V Step-Down transformer, and had hoped that this would be all I needed. Sadly it wasn't - unlike a machine I previously had which worked OK on 115 Volts, but didn't require the 60 Hz Frequency. That one had a DC motor for the record deck (I think it was an NSM, or maybe a Wurlitzer - I say think because it was a long time ago, and my memory isn't what it used to be). Anyway - Several helpful members here suggested solutions that I'm sure would work well, but I eventually opted for a simpler (and cheaper) method that should work for ANY Juke intended for the US Market (or any other appliance for that matter). Modifying the 'box' itself was likely to prove quite expensive, not to mention perhaps difficult, so rather than modify the machine, I felt it would be cheaper and preferable to keep the machine ' cosher' and modify the supply instead. To do this, I located a seller in Spain who could supply a device (two parts actually) to convert my 240V 50Hz supply down to 115V 60Hz. I won't repeat the details here, but simply refer you to my previous post, at: jukeboxaddicts.proboards.com/thread/4596/converting-seebeug-kd200-uk-power See the entry dated Feb 29, 2024 at 2:46pm This 'converter' produces sufficient power to run the entire machine perfectly I repeat it here for anyone who may have a similar situation. Hope it helps. Brian E.

Hi Brian,
I know this is a summary, but this post really just points to another thread.
Is this necessary? Our rules do state one thread per topic, and having one thread cuts down on the clutter.
"No multiple threads. One thread per topic."
I'm sure people will find your original post if they search the forum.
Your information is great, just not sure we need it in multiple places.

OK. Noted and thank you. I simply thought, as the previous one was specific to a Seeburg KD200, and this one is General, it might be more useful in the General section. Won't do it again Thanks. Brian E.
