I have a Wurlitzer 1015 OMT that plays vinyl 45 records. I've owned it for 10 years or so and up to this point have been able to fix any minor issue that it's had, but this one has me stumped. I hope someone on this forum will be kind enough to share some knowledge with me.
The problem started when I heard the jukebox playing by itself and knew that nobody had made any selections. After it finished playing the song, it returned the record to the carousel as is normal. When I put in a selection (205 for example) it displayed my selection but sat there and did nothing. After 30 seconds or so the digital readout that shows the selection number (205 in this case) changed and only displayed the number 1. The carousel never moved. I opened the front of the machine and toggled the lever to manually allow the carousel to turn, and it rotates fine under it's own power. It just won't play the selections when they're input. In 20 minutes it may decide to play a record on it's own, but that all it will do.

Have you looked at www.flippers.com/wurlitzr.html - lots of help there. There's an "attract" mode available which probably explains it "playing by itself" so maybe the programming has been corrupted somehow? Norman.

Thank you for the reply, but the attract feature isn't turned on.
I actually went to the link that you suggested before I found this site.

I don't really know much else to suggest - flippers.com is what I refer to if I have issues with these, imo there is extremely comprehensive assistance available there. It would seem that the attract mode is active somehow if it plays "by itself"! What about a reset of the memory and re-program? Even the fact that it plays "by itself" appears to eliminate quite a number of potential issues!
Norman.

I agree that the fact it plays at all eliminates a number of possibilities. It just seems odd that it would play pretty much flawlessly for 10 or 11 years and then one day it won't accept selections anymore. I wonder if I may have a bad selection and credit computer.
