Just purchased a Wurlitzer 2300 and am excited to hopefully get it working. I've repaired a few electromechanical pinball machines and feel like this will be similar to EM pinball repair just with the addition of an amplifier and speaker . The machine powers on and looks like it's set for free play. The keyboard functions and I can make a selection which seems to pop up the correct latch pin. The latch pin closes one of the over-ride switches however never activates the record carrier motor. I've cleaned all the over-ride switches and they appear to be in good condition. At power on, I notice the record drive motor is spinning--I feel like that is abnormal, but haven't been able to confirm. I have a copy of the service manual, but it's taking me some time to get used to the terminology. Any idea where I should be looking? Manually moving the tone arm (like the record is finishing) doesn't seem to do anything. Manually activating the mute switches (sorry if I'm using the wrong terms) seems to turn the speakers on (so that works). It also suggests to me that maybe the jukebox doesn't think a record is playing since the speakers are still muted? Would appreciate any points in the right direction.

So I'm making slow progress (I think). Was able to manually activate what I believe is the transfer switch. That seemed to then advance the record changer and even played a record. At the end of the record nothing happened, it didn't recognize the record ended and retract the record. Tried to do things manually with limited success. Here is a picture of the switches I was manually activating, the switches on the left got the mechanisms working and the ones on the right unmuted the speakers. ETA: As mentioned above it's not retracting the record. The cancel button on the amp seems to have no effect which the record is playing or after, pushing the button does nothing. I haven't manually tried to retract this record so turntable is just spinning and record is done. What am I overlooking?

I’ve also found one of my duck bills, I think it’s called, is broken. I’ve ordered a new Wurlitzer Guide Tip Assembly from Victory Glass. I don’t think that’s the cause of all my issues, but imagine I’ll need that in good working order.

I think I may have found another issue that's perhaps getting me closer to solving all of my other issues. There is a remote loudness plug on top of the amplifier. When I received the jukebox there was a long cable connected to it with the end cut off (and no remote). I unplugged that wire thinking without the remote I don't need the wire. Plugging the wire back in dramatically improves the sound quality so I suspect there are some jumpers there making things function properly. With that being said I'm still having the issue selecting and rejecting records (the only way I've gotten it to do anything is by manually activating the transfer switch). The manual lists "Open contact on remote cancel relay if used." as a possible cause of records not cancelling. Thinking maybe I need to connect some of the remote cables together, but which ones? I'm trying to read the schematic for the amplifier. I see a remote volume socket that lists pins 1 - 11, but don't see which ones would need to be connected together.
