Greetings. Just trying to finish a refurb on a neglected 148ML. The usual, used hard, put up in storage for decades....anyway, finally have everything working except one thing. The Helix will never turn the selector disc to lock on new selections. Noticed the helix drive gear spins engages with shaft gear as it should as tray moves, but that shaft gear just spins on the shaft both directions and therefor never turns the lower selector disc. The hole for the set screw for the gear on the shaft is literally right up against the inside of the frame and almost impossible to see. I took a picture with my phone and the set screw is either gone OR it has a roll pin in it that has sheared. I can't tell exactly. Hence my question, does anyone have knowledge if there is a set screw on the lower helix drive gear or is it indeed a shear pin in to secure it to the shaft? The book I have with the drawing has what looks like a screw head, which is odd because all the other gear set screws are allen head.
Kinda makes sense to have a shear/roll pin there to save gears from breaking in case of bind but why put it directly on the inside of the frame where there is little chance to even see it much less get to it.
Hope this ask makes sense. Rudy
