Hi Rob, Nope-- it IS/ MUST BE, used, if, when, using a USPU/UDPU-1 ( and all later model phono's with later PU's), pricing unit--and, according to my schematic ( page 13036) it is R-533, 1800 ohms. It is connected directly to the output of the rectifier--HOWEVER, with this added resistor, R-520 is also changed from a 4.7, to 3.3 Ron Rich

Ok, I took another look at the TSU7 and can't find an 1800 associated with LVDC. Aside from the 470K leading to the bias supply there is just the typical direct connections from the rect to the credit and stepper units. Maybe the 1800 is in the credit unit -? I did find that I had replaced the 4.7k from rect to ground w/a 5.6k but that was because i broke the original when I replaced the selenium with a bridge and used what I had handy. Going up here is not critical.

Rob, Are you using that TSU-7 in an AYxxxU, or a DS model ?If so, you will find that the half dollar, when used, will often times short you credits--the 1800 was added/changes made, in the TSU-7, to cure this problem. Ron Rich

Ron, the TSU-7's here have only been used in 201's and the modded K that I have on location. I guess these are prior to the modification.
The question that pertains to Norman's machine is whether this has anything to do with the bias voltage supply, or is it only the LVDC for coils, etc. I'd be surprised if they modified the bias voltage since that requirement would be the same for those tubes.

Ron,Rob: Ill try bypassing the 1800 ohm resistor and see what that does.thanks Norman

Norman, before you bypass anything, how is it connected. What are the two points it connects to-? If one side goes to ground --do not bypass it.

The 1800 ohm resistor goes from the negitive lead of the rectifier diode (Point one) to a terminal strip. the other side of the 1800 Ohm resistor goes to a 470 K resistor.Point two) Nothing going to ground. 1800 ohm resistor is R 533 on page 13036 of manual.

Norman,Rob-- That unit should work just fine with the 1800 installed- (check schematic values for other resistors !) The TSU-7 can be subbed for any other TSU--Other TSU's are NOT use-able if a USPU/UDPU pricing unit is used in the phono--Ron Rich

Been away for several days. There is a shop abot 75 mils from me that is very good. I will be taking it there to get the problem fixed. Again thanks Ron and Rob. For your paticece and help.Norman
