Last year worked to bring my juke back online after decades of sitting broken by the last owner. Ron was a huge help. Having a new issue that I haven’t been able to troubleshoot with my manual/service guide. My area does not have local service so on my own.
What happened:
Juke started repeating records after selection. Record would play, carriage would scan, return to that record and play. Hitting reject several times would then move on to the next selection and then repeat that record. I thought this might have had something to do with misalignment of the Tormat unit and plungers. I removed the back cover and inspected not noticing any issue but made an ever so slight adjustment by hand. Restored power but now the motor spins freely and is jammed in that function. Using the service switch I can push twice and stop motor operation but no carriage scan and will not automatically play the record from frozen position. The clutch lever seems to have normal operation, if I turn the flywheel by hand it will load record, engage clutch and after hand turning to the point where the record clamp engages the record will play (very slowly) and will stop playing upon pressing reject. To return the record also need to turn flywheel by hand and the clutch lever will disengage.
I have consulted the service manual and see two issues:
1. Why records were repeating- not seeing any procedure directly related to this
2. Current frozen carriage state- This seems closest to “Sits and Spins” procedure 14EP with most likely problem being “Bind in Safety Plunger” (Which does not seem to be the case if they are referring to the clutch lever) or bind in cam shaft (which I dont think is the issue because after a record is loaded the motor drives playing, albeit at slow speed).
Any ideas what my issues may be?
