So I spent the day working on this and ironed out all the bugs, but 2 things started to happen during the long test run period. I'll deal with one here as the other I will try it my own. (For now) What's going on is that it will play fine and then randomly start repeating a record without scanning, if I move the selected lever to the not select position it moves to the next record and continues to play normally when at some point it starts repeating again. Ron's Mechanism Guide states this is caused by the safety plunger but it is clean and seems to reset quickly every time, even when it repeats. It is not always the same records. The record returns completely into the magazine and then is pulled out over and over. Is there anything else that could cause this as I can't clean the plunger and casting any more than I have!

Hi Mauro, EDIT: Assuming this is not being caused by the record not falling back (warped record--loose label {s} ) --- You need to determine IF it is a safety plunger (mechanical), or an electrical issue. Watch both the plunger AND the Detent lever-- is the plunger operating slowly, or does it cross the record path instantly , following the pace of the main cam, after the record clears ? Does the Detent lever fall back down and STAY down, or does it not fall down, or is it re-energized by the coil (electrical problem) ? Ron Rich

Ron, It's not caused by a record as when I switch the record around it happens somewhere else but not that record again. I'm thinking it might be the contact block adjustment as it only (or predominantly) happens on the A or right side playing? Haven't had the B side do it but only included it in testing this afternoon. The safety plunger reacts instantly and follows the cam. The trip coil does energize when this happens. If I put some pressure on the mechanism frame in the direction of travel it will advance normally. Contact block? Opinion?

That's great news! Well that will wrap this project up, now to sneak it into the house or convince my lovely wife how great it would be to have music that just keeps going all day long and no punching selections! Hmmm, maybe I need a stronger argument? Regardless, thanks Ron, I'm in your debt once again. Cheers, Mauro
