I've been trying to chase down an issue on my rock ola 480. I recapped everything 2 years ago when I first bought it. But at that time I did not replace the 2 main filter caps on the amp. A couple months ago those caps failed and I had a buzz whenever I turned the juke on. Replaced those with nichicon caps and they lasted until about a week ago and both caps had literally come apart and the same buzz was back. So I replaced them with a different brand with a higher voltage rating. Buzz is gone now but as soon as the needle touches the record I get the speaker overload light on. Thought maybe those caps were faulting or something strange so I replaced them again.....no change. I have tested the bridge rectifier and it is good.
If I unplug the 2 big square connectors (labeled left and right) coming from behind the driver boards one at a time I noticed that the light stays out with the left unplugged but I only get the right channel highs, no sub.
I have tested all speakers and speaker wiring everything meters out as it should with no shorts.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We've been through this before - have a search through the forum! Bad solder joints, these amps are notorious for that!
Norman.

Maybe my search tearms aren't lining up because I can't find any results for overload and solder joints. Only other post I found was a guy that thought it was a pec and wanted to make his own.

Do a search on 52280, quite a bit comes up. There are some other threads as well. Norman.
