hum in background

when the needle lands on the start of the record there is a rymic hum in the background if I lift the tone arm off the record with the amp still on there is no hum but as soon as the needle is back on the record the hum is back I'm guessing it's coming from the turn table motor as anyone come across this before? regards keith

The rubber grommets holding the turntable motor may be at fault.
