Hello Working on my first juke box and am stuck on the wiring from bo/ac to main control box It's a wurlitzer americana 3800 200 selection with a bo/ac model 559 When I purchased it it had no coin mech or bo/ac. I didn't realize it was also missing wiring harness section I have a service manual but it shows nothing for the bo/ac If anyone yould help me out with a diagram and or pics it would be greatly appreciated. Note-- the schematic does show the bo/ac (control box side) socket so I have a starting point but it has 10 pins used. I then found a pretty fait pic online of the bo/ac (559 plastic box) it has 12 pins connected the cable between doesn't appear to go anywhere else so I can't determine the other 2 wire connections Thanks again

It would have been converted to free play, hence the lack of BOAC etc, see the "sticky" post in the Wurlitzer section. I take it you are attempting to return it to coin operation (you haven't said)? Although the service manual doesn't cover the internals of the BOAC, it looks like there should be enough info on the schematics to figure out the wiring from the control box to the BOAC. Unfortunately, my 3800 manual is a pdf and the quality of the schematics is quite poor. I do have a hard copy of the 3700 (also uses a BOAC) manual somewhere which should have readable diagrams but I would need to dig it out lol, I rarely work on these. Can you confirm that you're returning it to coins?

Yes that is correct I am returning it to coin op. The service manual I have only shows the connection at the control box (red 15 pin molex plug) and use of the 10 wires such as ground to bonus accumulator - cancel signal and so on but it shows nothing on connector to the bo/ac. I'll admit wiring is not my strong suit but I can assemble a harness with the right info. I can do fair with a schematic or diagram but mine simply doesn't have all the info I need. Thank you for responding.

OK, I dug out the 3700 manual. It's quite straightforward - they both have 15 pins and pin 1 on the BOAC connects to pin 1 on the Control Box and so on. They are on different pages of the schematics but the cables are numbered and they match. I also traced out pin 1 (+12V) and the free play switch just to be sure.

The 3800 schematics show a 15 pin connector on the BOAC. I cannot open your link but that's really immaterial, I found a picture on an Italian site. If you search this forum, you can find a query from somebody looking to free play their BOAC 559 on a Wurlitzer 7500. The Wurlitzer 7500 precedes the 3700 and even if I had a 7500 manual (which I don't), I doubt that I would be able to help you any further (unless the cable numbers somehow matched?). If you're looking for "plug and play" to match the schematics, you've definitely got the wrong BOAC. Does your machine work OK with the freeplay jumpers? Always something!

I carefully examined pics of a 559 with wiring attatched and using the info from manual or the 15 pin molex. I was able to get it going. I'm confident this is the correct bo/ac for the 3800 going by the connector front coin mech to bo/ac (same 18 pin edge connector just keyed different) I do not see an option to upload pics to make it easier to see the connector types Maybe try this link www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/wurlitzer-model-559-jukebox-control-4703943712
